The Arlanda Express has its own line with a single purpose: to link the airport and Central Station without stopping. That's where the 18 minutes to Stockholm C come from, a time no other mode of transport can beat, not even a taxi in rush-hour traffic on the E4.
Arlanda Express tickets start at 20.95 €. When booking you choose between a single and a return. The ticket goes to your phone; you show the code at the platform and board.

The operator also offers separate, cheaper fares for young adults aged 18 to 25 and for travellers aged 65 and over.
The train runs every 12 to 15 minutes, so there's no timetable to memorise: you walk to the platform and take the next train. The journey to Stockholm C takes 18 minutes from Arlanda Södra and 19 minutes from Arlanda Norra.
For the trip back to the airport, plan your own buffer for the ride, the walk from the platform to the terminal and security. Terminal 2 is being redeveloped until early 2027, so allow a little more time there.

Travel between the two airport stations is free and takes one minute. Your boarding pass shows which terminal your airline uses. Terminal 5 is used by Lufthansa, Eurowings, Austrian, Swiss, SAS, Norwegian, Brussels Airlines, Ryanair and Wizz Air, among others. Terminal 2 serves KLM, Air France, British Airways and easyJet, among others, while Finnair uses both terminals.

It's worth it when time is short or your patience is thin: with a tight connection, with children and luggage, after a night flight, or when you still have an appointment in the city on the day you fly out. For families, free travel for children is another plus: on the airport bus, only children up to 7 travel free.
If you're travelling alone, with light luggage and no rush, the airport bus and Pendeltåg are cheaper and take roughly twice as long. For a group with plenty of luggage or a destination outside the centre, a taxi or private transfer is the more comfortable choice.
The trains are designed for air passengers, with wide doors and luggage racks by the entrances. If you want to go into the city between two flights, leave your cases in a locker at the airport; there are lockers at Terminal 2, Terminal 4, Terminal 5 and in Sky City.

No. The ticket is valid for 90 days on any departure in either direction. After baggage reclaim you board the next train, and if your flight is delayed, you lose nothing.
That depends on your terminal. For Terminal 2 it's Arlanda Södra, for Terminal 5 Arlanda Norra. The gates of the former Terminal 4 are now part of Terminal 5. If you board at the wrong station, you can ride to the other one free of charge; it takes one minute.
No. Children and young people aged 0 to 17 travel free with an accompanying adult and don't need a ticket of their own. Only those aged 8 to 17 travelling alone need their own ticket.
